Something I consider often, and more so of recent (thanks to what I have been reading), is the fact that we are all, to a certain degree, alienated in our lives. We are alienated in the things we do, the way we live and in how we communicate. Even this blog can be alienating… well to a certain degree… and it is something that I am starting to incorporate more and more in my street work.
I like the big bold statements of architecture humanity has made and the way that nature’s light plays against them and I also like having one person appear in each image. Initially it was a clean thing, a less is more idea but now it is starting to become more of a statement and fact of modern life. The fact that we are more and more isolated from everything we do and make. We are the little silhouette isolated and alone, only surrounded by the constructs we impose upon ourselves, only able to communicated using interfaces we have designed and only able to express how we feel through emoticons….ok well that last one was a little far-fetched but you know what I mean. I wonder what the next step will be?
All comments, questions, ideas, critiques and/or emoticons are more than welcome.
